Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE) To Pass Closest to Earth on July 22 and July 23

Comet C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE), first discovered on March 27, 2020, will pass closest to Earth this week on July 22 and July 23. It can be seen with the human eye near the Big Dipper constellation by facing West-Northwest just after sunset. This comet is the brightest to be seen in the Northern Hemisphere in 25 years and will not return to Earth until around the year 8,786.
So now is the time to grab your tripod and favorite camera, head to a location with limited light pollution and treeline, and shoot West-Northwest aimed near the Big Dipper just after sunset! The Photo Bill of Rights is authored by a group of individuals from grassroots organizations working toward dismantling harmful practices in the visual journalism and editorial media industry.
We have come together in the midst of COVID-19, alongside the movement to fight police brutality and systemic racism, to assert the rights of all lens-based workers and define actions that build a safer, healthier, more inclusive, and transparent industry.
Sean Sosik-Hamor became a signatory of the Photo Bill of Rights when it launched on June 22, 2020. As of today there are now nearly 2,500 signatures backing the cause!

A chapter on Implicit Bias has been added to Beyond the Bill and we’ve added a Toolkit for Visual Editors and Institutions to the website.
We’ve also added several news words to the PBoR glossary, including white supremacy and white privilege.
The Photo Bill of Rights Salon has been scheduled for Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 16:00 US/Eastern and the Photo Bill of Rights Editor Salon has been scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 18:00 US/Eastern.

Love it or hate it, there's no arguing the fact that the Photo Bill of Rights created some healthy (and some heated) conversations that were long overdue. David Burnett wrote an open letter to the NPPA about it. And then Amy Scott wrote an open letter to David Burnett. Both are worth reading.

I’ve only just started reading Newsvoice and, so far, I’m a fan. Each summary provides the ability to include multiple links to left-leaning, neutral, and right-leaning news sources. At first I was disappointed that there was no RSS feed option to subscribe using an RSS newsreader. But, after some thought, this makes sense. Newsvoice’s unbiased model is designed around providing multiple news sources for each summary. In my opinion this functionality would be cluttered to implement in RSS feeds.
Shameless Self-promotion — Hamor Hollow Hedgehogs Finally Has Baby Hedgies!
My wife Kelly and I have been hedgehog breeders, USDA-licensed in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts, since 2003. After months of fertility issues and low birth rates we finally had an uptick of litters born in our array over the past two and a half weeks!
These litters were coincidentally (ironically?) born just before we brought in new breeding studs from Connecticut Hedgehogs and Terrapin Hedgehogs. So, if you’ve filled out a questionnaire and are on our waiting list, you should be hearing from us soon! We are also working with a Texas breeder to ship in some of their studs as well.
